How to Set Up Your New NFC Tag

Welcome! Here’s how to easily program your NFC tag to link to a contact card, social media profile, or emergency info page.

  • A smartphone with NFC enabled (see FAQs below)

  • The NFC Tools app – free on Google Play and App Store


📲 Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Install the App

Download and open NFC Tools.

2. Go to the “Write” Tab

This allows you to write data to your NFC tag.

3. Tap “Add a Record”

Choose the type of info you want to store. For most users, choose:

  • URL/Website to link to a contact page, Linktree, or emergency info
  • Or choose Text if you just want to store a short note or phone number

4. Enter Your Link or Info

Popular choices:

  • Your Linktree or other free bio link service
  • A Google Form, emergency contact page, or document
  • A social media profile, like Facebook or Instagram

5. Write to the Tag

Tap the “Write” button, then hold your phone near the NFC tag until it confirms success (usually 1–2 seconds).

  • Tap a phone (Android or iPhone XR and newer) to the tag.
  • The link will open automatically — no app needed to scan.

  • Linktree is great for privacy: you can link multiple pages while keeping your phone number hidden.
  • Avoid linking to files directly (e.g., PDFs, DOCs) – use a hosted page instead.
  • Keep your link updated if details change.
